I am a mom. Surprise, surprise, right?

Well, as a new mom I was pretty ill-prepared when coming home with my little one. All I knew was that I was absolutely in love with my daughter. Those first few weeks I would sit in my glider, rocking her and be so overwhelmed with happiness, love and joy that I would just cry uncontrollably. Actually, that still happens sometimes!

But though my love was instinctual, many other things have not been. Conversations with other moms about their experiences have helped me tremendously. This little blog is my way of sharing some of my and my friend’s experiences and also a place to swap stories, product suggestions, and parenting recommendations or helpful hints. Because being a mommy ROCKS – so let’s all share.

A little bit more about me is that I have spent the majority of my life living in the Southwest. Sure I was born in Wisconsin and still cheer for the Packers (even after Favre came out of retirement to play for the Vikings) and I lived in the south for awhile, working and going to graduate school at Duke University. But I love the West coast and all that it offers: lots of hiking, camping, the beach and sunshine.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in English from the University of San Diego, worked in public relations before moving up the PCH to work for the Los Angeles Times. I’ve worked in marketing communications for over ten years and am lucky to love my profession.

My husband and I met while we were both in North Carolina and six months after that meeting we moved across the country together. About a year later, we eloped in Paris. I fall more in love with him every day and couldn’t be happier. We now make three with the birth of our daughter (click here for our birth story). Life is good. Life is merry.
